The Week in Review: Ballet 422 Premiere + Escada Party / by A F

On February 2nd, it was great to attend the Magnolia Pictures premiere of Ballet 422 in New York City. The film profiles Justin Peck, dancer and resident choreographer at the New York City Ballet. Peck is one of the youngest choreographers for the New York City Ballet and his dedication is truly inspiring.

The documentary is in many ways a piece of art. The camera roams the room in a very subtle way. The result is that the viewer actually feels that they are there in the room, taking on all of the feelings of the dancers as they work diligently to prepare for their new Ballet.

Influencers in attendance included Parker Posey, Gilles Mendel, Andrew Bevan, Amy Astley, Kiera Chaplin, Makenzie Leigh, Kipton Cronkite and Frederic Tcheng.

On February 3rd, Escada and New Yorkers for Children with Megha Mittal, Escada Chairman and Marigay McKee, Saks Fifth Avenue President hosted a private dinner celebrating "The Escada Meets Thilo Westermann Collection," benefiting New Yorkers for Children. The atmosphere at the Mondrian Soho was magical and it looked like a winter wonderland with the snow falling on the glass ceiling above us.

Minnie Driver, wearing an ESCADA /Westermann black and white dress, sang two beautiful songs during dinner.

It was a classic New York evening.
